UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador Program
David C. McCourt, Executive Producer of the series
"What's Going On", has founded 10 companies
in the three countries and is widely recognized as
a transformational force in the entertainment and
telecommunications business. Mr. McCourt will also
be honored later this year as the recipient of the
2004 Gold Medal from the American Irish Historical
Societ, one of the most prestigious awards for anyone
of Irish ancestry. Along with his talented producing
partners Nikki Silver and Orly Wiseman, Mr. McCourt
has been involved with producing entertaining and
educational television for children for almost 20
years. In its twentieth season for PBS, "Reading
Rainbow" - the most frequently used television
program in American schools - has won the Emmy Award
for Best Children's Series for the past three years
in a row. They have also produced for the Discovery
Channel (Outward Bound), ABC Family (The Zack Files)
and are currently working on a new series for MTV's
the N Network (Miracle's Boys).
